四、說(shuō)教學(xué)過(guò)程
Here comes the most important part — teaching procedures, which include six steps: lead-in, pre-listening, while-listening, post-listening, summary and homework.
Step 1. Lead-in
In this step, I will show students a video about different disasters. Then I will ask students what they can see in the video and what are the names of disasters. One minute will be given for their discussion and then I will encourage some students to show their answers. By asking the relevant questions and discussing, students’ attention will be attracted and they will have more interests and motivation for today’s lesson.
Step 2. Pre-listening
In this step, I will hold a free-talk about what may happen in these disasters. After the discussion, I will invite some students to show their results: People may be killed. Homes may be damaged or destroyed. It will cause economic losses. People who survive might suffer psychological hurt. Students’ thinking ability can be improved and lay a foundation for the next step.
Step 3. While-listening
First, I will ask students to listen to the text quickly and find out the main idea of the text.
This step can help students get the main idea of the passage and their summarizing ability can be practiced.
Second, I will play the tape again and students should circle the key words in the questions below and write the kind of information they refer to. Then listen again and answer the questions.
This step helps students get the detailed information by listening to the text carefully.
Third, students will listen to the tape carefully and discuss with their partners about the main points of a news report.
It can help students get familiar with the structure of news report and have a deep understanding of the text.
Step 4. Post-listening
In this step, I will ask students to read about the disasters below and prepare a short news report on one of them. Remind to start with the most important information and then provide the details. When time is out, I will encourage some groups to show their news reports.
This step will help students practice their speaking ability by discussing with their group members.
Step 5. Summary
Students summarize the main idea of the passage and I will tell students that we should protect the nature. Students can review the knowledge and check the weak points.
Step 6. Homework
I will ask students to search for more information about one of the natural disasters. And then they can share their research in the next class. The homework can help students broaden their knowledge and practice their speaking ability.
五、說(shuō)板書(shū)設(shè)計(jì)
At last, I will talk something about my blackboard design. The blackboard design is so direct that students can have a deep understanding of the main points and master the text easily.
